Entertainment in Veliko Tarnovo
Tsarevets Fortress is an architectural museum reserve, located on the eponymous hill, near the old town of Veliko Tarnovo. The complex is all preserved remains of the great Bulgarian capital Tarnovo. Today you can see the castle walls and gate of the medieval city, part of the royal palace, Baldwin Tower and fully restored patriarchal church “Ascension”. The first settlement on the hill dates back five thousand years ago, the fortress was the main Bulgarian fortress during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom when Tarnovo was the capital of Bulgaria.
The beach is located near Tsarevets next to the unfinished street “Kraibrezhna”. Thanks to the active students the beach curve is gradually becoming a nice place for relaxation of the inhabitants of Veliko Tarnovo. Made of wooden platforms, some of which are exported over the water. The place has a small sandy beach and just this bend in the river is one of the most beautiful.
Bacho Kiro Cave was first opened to visitors in 1938 but finds indicate that the caves were inhabited as far back as the Middle Paleolithic age (around 70,000 years ago).
Central Mall Veliko Tarnovo is the first mall which was built outside th capital city of Sofia. The mall was opened in 2006. It has impressive architecture and the unique atrium with glass dome, natural lighting and water effects, where the water falls from 25 meters.
Stambolov bridge in Veliko Tarnovo connects the current central part of the city with Mount Athos. It boasts wonderful views of the old town of Veliko Tarnovo. Construction of the facility began in 1892 – its height is 37 meters. Also you can see bungee jumping enthusiasts.
